In 2009, earlier boats built by the company are:

2010

In 2010, G Smyth Boats built a new mould for the company. To date, 5 boats have been constructed from this mould. They are:

The Lonestar. Owner Eddie Mcfarland , from Scotland.
Hull. Owner David Robertson, Shetlands.
Hull. Owner Alan Jones, Annalong, Co. Down.
Hull. Owner Sean O’Dougan, Co. Kerry.
The Tracey. Owner Freddie Estaret, Belgium.

2011

2011 was a busy year for G Smyth Boats. In June 2011, G Smyth Boats had the task of refitting Brian Cunningham’s 10metre Catamaran, Rian John which capsized in Carlingford Lough. The company also carried out a refit on the Boy Joseph, a 9 metre wooden vessel owned by Kevin and Kieran Trainor.

Meet the GSB Team

The Boss

Company Foreman. Richard began the journey with Gerry back in 2009, working Part time. Coming on fulltime in 2010 Richard has been an integral part of the G Smyth Boats team, as well as over seeing all ongoing works Richard leads his own boat building squad, his latest boat was ShazLeah

Team Leader at the moulding plant. Martin has been a key worker since the beginning, adapting his plastering skills to become an excellent laminator. Now he leads a team of 6 others in the laying up of all our Hulls, rails, wheelhouses and many other GRP components needed to complete each vessel.

Graham , a very talented welder and has been part of the G Smyth Boats team from the beginning. Graham creates rails, hand rails, steps and masts for each vessel.

Joined in 2011. Ceara is responsible for the day to day running of the company. Liaising with customers, finalising details of builds.

Joel has been part of the company since he left school. He apprenticed to Richard Gordon when he joined and now leads his own team on a boat build. His latest project was BH124 Sharon Anne.

Tom is an exceptional Joiner, working with the other joiners to create bespoke wheelhouse layouts and finishes.

Jamie has been with G Smyth Boats since leaving school. He is a part of Richard's team, an works along side Jonnie to complete fish rooms, engine rooms etc

Jonnie is part of Richards team, skilled worker who can turn his hand to any job.

Caitlin joined G Smyth Boats in 2021 after studying Business and accounts at SRC, Newry.

Eoghan started his apprenticeship in 2021, attending college one day a week as well as working alongside Tom learning the skills to fit out the boat's wheelhouse, galley and accommodation

Ethan joined G Smyth Boats through a 12 week works scheme ran by SRC, Newry the HS&J project. After completion Ethan will be joining the laminating team fulltime.
