North Star is a bespoke Maxus 9.2m Fast Cat, constructed in 2025 for Howth Yacht Club. Designed as a dedicated race management and support vessel, the boat has been developed to meet the demands of modern sailing events, where flexibility, visibility and onboard facilities are key.
Based on our proven 9.2m Maxus Fast Cat hull, the vessel offers excellent stability, providing a steady and reliable platform for race officials during on-water operations. The layout has been carefully configured to support efficient race management with clear working areas and strong all-round visibility.
To enhance functionality and comfort, North Star has been fitted with a range of additional features tailored to its role. These include extended seating for crew and officials, a flybridge position to improve visibility during race control, and wheelchair access to ensure inclusive operation. Onboard facilities also include a toilet and a compact galley, complete with fridge, water boiler, and essential amenities to support longer days on the water.
The vessel delivers great performance, allowing for effective positioning and response during racing activities while also maintaining a comfortable and practical working environment onboard.
