Description

Kraken is a Gemini 12 catamaran which was fitted out by us here at G Smyth Boats in 2016 for owner and skipper Laurie Grieve. Based in Kirkwall, Orkney, the vessel is set up for lobster and crab fishing, tailored to suit the demands of inshore shellfish operations.

The fit-out was completed with a focus on practicality and efficiency, providing a clear and well-organised deck layout to support safe and effective handling of creels. The vessel is fitted with an enclosed rail system, offering protection from the weather and improving working conditions when operating in exposed environments.

Powered by Iveco engines, Kraken delivers reliable and efficient performance suited to day-to-day fishing activities. The overall arrangement has been designed to ensure ease of operation, durability and consistent performance in Orkney waters.

Skippered by the owner, the vessel continues to operate as a dependable and capable working boat, reflecting a straightforward and practical approach to inshore fishing.
